Frank Hamilton Cushing (1857-1900) was an early ethnographer working in the American Southwest during the late 19th Century. Dat-So-La-Lee, also known as “The Queen of the Washo Basketmakers,” was born circa 1825 in an Indian village near a place which later became know as Sheridan, Nevada.
