Abstract Ellen (Mrs. Joe) Amos and family were Miwok Indians residing in Mariposa County, California. Ellen Amos lived in Wawona, Mariposa County, near Yosemite area, in the early 1900s. Collection of letters to Ellen Amos from her children and other family members. Letters span from 1909 to 1927 and includes the time when Mrs. Amos's son, Eddie, was in the army and France during World War I.
